THIS IS WHY....

...I need my own scrapbook room!!! Look what my wonderful, darling, adorable son did tonight...I turned my back for TWO seconds.....and he found my navy blue ink pad!!!! It was ALL OVER his hands and face.....he went straight into the tub......it came off a lot easier than I thought it would!!!!!!!

What an expression, eh?!?!?!? I love it!!!

My first time...

I went to my first Go Scrapping day crop on Saturday.....it was my birthday present from Jason and Trenton...thanks guys! I love you! It was so much fun! {My friend Jenn was in on the planning too!!! Thanks girlie!}

I was all packed and ready to go on Friday night!!! Here's my "stash" all packed up!!

We got there in decent time {before 10am} and got set up and took a look at "vendor row" ....there were a few vendors there for us to make purchases if we so desired or if we ran out of a certain product or paper!!! Here's a pic of "vendor row"....they also had make-n-takes going all day!!

There were some great door prizes that were donated by several local scrapbook stores {The Scrapping Turtle, The Scrapping Bug, Two Scrapbook Friends and more!} I didn't win anything! I was very close for a few of them....it's actually kinda cool.....you get six door prize tickets right off the bat.....then every time you finish a layout, you get a ticket...if it's a two page layout you get two tickets....that's a really cool idea! And if you did a make-n-take, you got a ticket too! So I got 10 extra tickets in total! {six layouts and four make-n-takes}...There were a few things I had my eye on.....but I didn't bring anything home!!!

Oh but I DID get a great goodie bag!!! Here's what was in it!

There were a few coupons, some cute embellishments from Wilma {from Stampin' Up}, some coloured laquer, some mat board and ribbon. {Also, pictured are the make-n-takes}

I only spent $10 all day!!! That's pretty good for me....but I pretty much took EVERYTHING with me!!! But my best purchase was my Go Scrapping on-the-"GO" mug...I use it all the time now! It was a VERY good purchase!!!

Here are a few views of all the ladies scrapping away!!!

And I can't forget the guest of honour!!! This is "Scrappy" the Turtle...he's the official mascot of The Scrapping Turtle! And he's holding Hannah's completed mini album from Rusty Pickle...great job Hannah!!!!
Thanks Karen for the great time! I will have to come back again! I do need to get some more stamps for my passport!!! It was great putting faces to message board names and meeting a lot of new people! There was A LOT of talent under the same roof that day!!! I saw a lot of great layouts! You are all very talented!!! Thanks for making my first time to a Go Scrapping crop a good time!!!
It was nice to get out of the house and not have to worry about "mommy" duties...Thanks again Jay and Trenton...I had a lot of fun!!!! I love ya!!! xoxoxoxoxo

Taste of Country Candles

I just wanted to share with you all about my sister-in-law's and her friend's new candle business, "Taste of Country Candles" that I am happy to be a part of. Janice and her friend Jodi are incorporating my cards, and altered items to their gift baskets. I'm so excited to be involved with two great and talented women!

I have used these candles myself...I actually have one sitting right in front of me! They are great candles....Taste of Country Candles customizes the candles' colours to whatever you want....they also do customized gift baskets for a very reasonable price...they are beautifully packaged! I have seen some of the baskets! You will like what you see!

They are currently working on a website www.tasteofcountrycandles.com so if you check it out now it will still be under construction but it will be up and running hopefully before Saturday! There will also be a link on my site www.inascrap.com if you need more information.
If you ever want to order candles let me know! I will put you in touch with the right people! If we get enough, we could even do a party!!! Candle parties are FUN FUN FUN!!! :0D

Here is my candle that I received today! It is Country Clothesline. It smells like clothes drying! {Downy fresh!!!} Smells yummy! It's nice because it's very subtle....not too overpowering! That's what I like about candles....I don't like over-perfume-y candles....so that's why I like them a lot!
Thanks for taking a look at Taste of Country Candles! We appreciate the interest!

And my birthday keeps going!!!

I got ANOTHER birthday present today! It was a good mail day today! I'm a part of a birthday swap and I got my big package today!!! I was so excited! I was expecting it this week! I got some really great stuff! Bohemia, MM, rub-ons, lots of brads and eyelets, ribbons, chipboard and some lovely birthday cards!!!! Thank you so much to all the ladies in my swap group! I'm so grateful! I will have lots of fun with all this stuff! I have even packed a lot of it up to take with me on my first all day crop on Saturday! {I'll report about that Sunday!} Here is my loot!!

I'm so excited to get started using all this stuff!!!...some great "boy" colours!!! Thanks again ladies!

Boys Will Be Boys

I had to post this layout I did the other night at a crop....it shows how mischieveous my son really is!!! Yes, that's my underwear around his neck!!! Don't worry...they are clean! :0D I used a sketch for this layout; it was a challenge on www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com ...and the puffy rick rack is from www.savvynsassy.com ...the paper is the Hang 10 collection from Basic Grey! (of course!)

Steps Toward A Cure

My fellow scrapbooker Holly has decided to take on quite a challenge and participate in the Walk to End Breast Cancer September 7-9th, 2007...and is looking to reach her $2000 goal! Her mother had breast cancer in Holly's earlier years so this cause is very close to her family. Her mother is in full remission now, thankfully!

In A Scrap Album Creations donates $2 for every album sale to the Breast Cancer Society on a regular basis, plus we also sell handmade Breast Cancer Awareness postcards for a small fee. From now till September, we will be donating the proceeds to Holly and her fundraising efforts.

So please join us in this effort to help end breast cancer that attacks so many women. For more information about donating to Holly and her team, please visit her blog: http://hollysjustmeandmyblog.blogspot.com/. There is information and links for donations to Holly's team. Thanks in advance for your help and concern!!!

PIF....We've all heard of it

PIF....Pay It Forward...we've all heard of this at least once in our lifetime...I'm sure the majority of us have even seen the movie with Haley Joel Osmond in the starring role...I just want to share a couple little stories with you from my weekend...

I was working yesterday and was taking care of a customer with his order...we finished it and I cashed him out and he left. But he came back about five minutes later, wanting to exchange what he bought for something that would work better and an additional purchase...his total came to 80-something cents but he only had 45 cents...so after him searching through his pockets for more change, he couldn't find any...I told him that I would look after it BUT he had to pay it forward; he had to help someone else...he said he would.....I trust he will...

...then this morning I was watching a movie on TBS and it was the movie Pay It Forward that was playing...{kind of ironic, eh?!} ....

...and lastly, I went to the grocery store to stock up for the week...and after emptying my cart in the car, I went to return the cart and get my quarter back {the grocery store I go to requires a quarter put in the handle to unlock it}...I was walking up to the carts where a fellow shopper was searching in her change purse for a quarter...all she came up with was two pennies...her children had used all her change up...so I told her to not worry about it....and when I was almost in my car, she shouted through the parking lot, "I will pay it forward"...and I gave her the thumbs up! :0D It's amazing how that term has become part of our every day language...and everyone knows what it means...it's a nice thought that not everyone in the world is about themselves and that people are thinking of those around them.......

...SO.....My challenge to you this week is to find your three people to PIF to....let's help make the world a little more bearable to live in...have a wonderful week everyone! I'm looking forward to it! :0D
